Introduction

The 1960s are know as the Silver Age of Comics. It was a time when Super heroes and Super villains were completely redesigned, creating a whole new line of comics. The 1960's gave rise to Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and what became known as "Underground Comix." Ever since the Golden Age of Comics, starting in the 1930s, comics had been a reflection of maintstream American culture. What made the Silver Age of Comics so unique, is the revolution of comics representing mainstream culture to comics representing not only mainstream culture, but counterculture and the individual as well.
